Construction of the St. Alexander Nevsky Church in the village of Illyria began in 1880, financed by a local landowner and parishioners. Artillery shelling in 2014 damaged the dome, roof, brickwork, and historic murals. In October 2022, the church was completely restored, the roof was repaired, and a new boiler room was built, providing the building with its first heating system in 137 years.
