The St. Nicholas women’s Monastery in the village of Nikolskoye was founded in 2001 near a historic church built in 1912. Active construction and reconstruction of the monastery building continued until 2012. In 2022, the monastery was seriously damaged by artillery strikes: cell buildings and outbuildings burned down, some buildings were completely destroyed, and some members of the community were killed. Large-scale restoration has been underway since 2023.
